Editing to the beat




The way in which music and image are linked was a concern for all the groups working with SilicaScope. How closely to connect audio and visual rhythm? Here is an excellent example of a loose approach that used different film formats to create a very specific atmosphere. Check out the making of documentary for extra info.

First lesson in Final cut



Karin Ahlin provided students with an introduction to Final Cut editing software.This included importing songs and still pictures, navigating around the program, simple editing and making a test animation.

Silicascope is pleased to collaborate with Asha Ali.

Asha Ali has been releasing music since her debut ep warm fronts in
2005. Her debut album Asha ali was nominated for swedish grammy and
P3 Gold awards. Her second album Hurricane was released in 2009 and
she is currently performing and working on new material.
Asha is interested in artistic interpretations of her music and especially the
collaboration between music, handcraft and the moving image. She supports an
experimental approachs that differ from the usual artist- video format.

Getting started

Silicascope started with a short introduction by myself, Charlie Stern. I gave some background the course and an outline of what was in store.
I talked about last years version of this project MONKEYCANDO.
